The International Race of Champions (IROC) was a North American auto racing competition, created by Les Richter, Roger Penske and Mike Phelps, promoted as an equivalent of an American All-Star Game or The Masters. Race events were held at various tracks across the United States from 1974 to 2006. IROC was also notable for its field of invited drivers, who were considered the best in their respective disciplines of motorsports. The 1975 IROC series featured 12 races and was won by Peter Revson.
Cale Yarborough is a former American race car driver who competed in NASCAR, winning the NASCAR Cup Series championship three times (1976, 1977, and 1978) and winning 84 races. He competed in the IROC series from 1974 to 1981, winning the series championship in 1979.
